NCAT Registry Locations and Hours in NSW
Where NCAT Sits in NSW
NCAT's Consumer and Commercial Division operates from permanent registry locations in metropolitan Sydney and major regional centres, with circuit sittings in other regional towns. If you need to file a paper application, attend a hearing in person, or collect a certified copy of an order, here is where to go.
Sydney CBD
The Consumer and Commercial Division registry is at Level 14, Civic Tower, 66 Goulburn Street, Sydney NSW 2000. John Maddison Tower at 86-90 Goulburn Street is a separate building used by other NCAT divisions and the Appeals Unit. The Civic Tower is near Central Station and Museum Station.
Parramatta
Level 5, 9 George Street, Parramatta NSW 2150 serves western Sydney matters. Consumer claims involving respondents based in western Sydney or applicants living in the western suburbs are frequently listed here. The registry handles applications, fee payments, and document lodgement.

Regional Venues
NCAT has registry locations in Newcastle, Wollongong, Liverpool, Penrith and Tamworth, and also holds sittings in other regional centres depending on demand. Regional sittings are not available every week — the registry lists hearing dates for each venue in advance.
If no regional sitting is available near you, or the travel is impractical, you can apply to attend by phone or video link instead of travelling to Sydney.
Opening Hours
NCAT registry business hours are Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM (excluding NSW public holidays). Counter services for filing paper applications, paying fees, and collecting documents are available during these hours.
Hearings and conciliation sessions are also scheduled between 9:00 AM and 4:30 PM on weekdays. NCAT does not sit on evenings or weekends.
Filing in Person vs Online vs Post
Online filing through NCAT Online Services (ncat.nsw.gov.au) is available 24/7 and is the fastest method. You will need to create an account with 100 points of ID verification.
In-person filing at any registry counter — bring the completed application form, supporting documents, and a credit card or cheque for the filing fee. Staff can confirm that your form is complete, but they cannot provide legal advice or help you draft your claim.
Postal filing — post your application, documents and fee payment (credit card authorisation form or cheque) to: NCAT Consumer and Commercial Division, GPO Box 4005, Sydney NSW 2001. Allow extra time for postal delivery — the filing date is the date NCAT receives and accepts the application, not the date you posted it.
Paper applications filed in person or by post require the original plus one copy for each respondent.
ServiceNSW Centres
Some ServiceNSW service centres act as receiving agents for NCAT paper applications. This can be convenient if a ServiceNSW centre is closer than the nearest NCAT registry. Check with your local ServiceNSW whether they accept NCAT lodgements — not all centres provide this service.
For the complete filing process, including what to attach, how fees are calculated, and what happens after lodgement, the NCAT Consumer Claim Guide for NSW covers every step.
